Research Project Introduction (First Draft)

Research shows a link between food environments and social inequality. Studies conducted by the Agence de la Santé et des Services Sociaux de Montréal use access to fresh fruits and vegetables on a walking distance as a qualifier for the population’s hand on healthy food.  In fact, fruits and vegetables are recognized as the major component to healthy nutrition, and following a 2010 census their consumption is still insufficient to the majority of Montreal’s population. This paper looks at effective solutions towards a more accessible quality nutrition.
